Details

Completion of Academic Credits

Fulfillment of the 120 ECTS credit requirement, comprising mandatory and elective courses as outlined in the program curriculum.

Master’s Thesis

Submission and successful defense of a Master’s thesis demonstrating advanced, independent research and application of knowledge in economics and data science.

Compliance with Policies and Regulations

Full compliance with the academic, administrative, and ethical standards of New Uzbekistan University. Non-compliance may result in disqualification.

Financial Obligations

Settlement of all tuition fees, semester fees, and associated costs to New Uzbekistan University, as applicable.

Graduates of the M.Sc. in Economics and Data Science will possess:

Entry requirements

Educational Background

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS credits) awarded by an accredited higher education institution. The degree must be completed in either full-time or part-time mode of study.

Minimum English Proficiency

  • IELTS 6.0 or;
  • CEFR B2 (56-60) or;
  • TOEFL iBT 60 (Only TOEFL iBT tests taken at approved test centers are accepted. The TOEFL iBT Home Edition is not accepted.)

Note: Applicants who have completed their bachelor’s degree entirely in English are not required to submit the above-mentioned language proficiency certificates.

Entrance Exam Requirement

Applicants are required to pass the Math entrance exam.

Applicants with a GRE/GMAT (10th or Focus edition) certificate may be exempt from the entrance exam. Their exam results will be based on their score in the GRE/GMAT Math (Quantitative) section.

If applicants prefer, they may still take the exam. In case of a difference between the score granted from the GRE/GMAT Math (Quantitative) section and the exam score, the higher score will be considered.

Associated Partner with GreEnFin Master’s Program

NewUU is an associated partner of the GreEnFin Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Program University of Bologna ranked #130th in THE World University Rankings 2026. The partnership establishes a supported study abroad opportunity for Italian and Uzbek students, backed by Erasmus + ICM scholarships. 

The GrEnFIn EMJM is a collaborative degree program offered by the University of Bologna (Italy), Ludwing-Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), and Paris-Dauphine University (France), with support from internationally renowned associated partner institutions. The GreEnFin program is a two-year, second-cycle multidisciplinary Master's program totaling 120 ECTS. It is designed to provide students with a rigorous education focused on analyzing and managing challenges related to the transition to a low-carbon economy, leveraging financial innovation and promoting a risk management approach. As an associated partner, NewUU supports the program's dissemination and promotion across its local, national, and international networks to contribute to the recruitment and selection of qualified international students. 

In the coming two years, the partnership will leverage Erasmus + funding to facilitate academic exchanges and thesis preparation for a total of four students, two from NewUU and two from Bologna, at the partner university.
